Colour

Omni-Flex Markers (O.F.M)are manufactured in an opaque white color except for the retro reflective surfaces and other required markings. The surface of the post does not support mildew or other fungus growth.

Vehicle Impact

An O.F.M. Post was subjected to 10 impacts head on into traffic, at speeds of 100Kph and 5 impacts at an angle approximately 75° to the traffic face at speeds of 9OKph. The post remained capable of self erecting to vertical and remained serviceable after these tests.

Field Rigidity

a) Dynamic Test - O.F.M. Posts have been observed not deflect more than 75mm from the rest position nor oscillate unduly under a gusty wind load at ca. 5OKph.

b) Static Test - A 1kg load was applied at tight angles and centrally to the top of the post in its weakest direction. The post the not deflect more than 75mm horn its test position

Weathering Resistance

O.F.M. Post material formulation (in the extruded weatherboard Supa-Clad I.P.) have been subjected to outdoor weathering tests at Allunga Exposure Laboratories, Townsville, with satisfactory results and are continuing in accordance with A.S. AK CK24, Part I - 1972 by the Allunga Exposure Laboratory.

Heat Resistance

O.F.M. Posts have been conditioned in an oven for 2 hrs at 62°C and have proved capable of straightening themselves within 30 secs. when bent 900 for each 4 bends. The tests were completed within 2 mins. of removal from the oven.

Cold Resistance

a) O.F.M. Posts have been conditioned over-night in ambient conditions not exceeding 2 °C and have proved capable of straightening themselves instantly when bent for each of 4 bends. The tests were conducted at ambient temperature of 1°C.

b) A steel ball weighing 1kg was dropped a distance of 1500mm through a vertical frictionless guide to impact the surface of the O.F.M. which was in a horizontal position beneath the guide. The test was repeated 5 times and was concentrated near the middle of the post. The tests were conducted in a continuing ambient temperature of 1°C.

Ground Water Resistance

O.F.M. Posts are totally impervious to water regardless of ph value, or duration of immersion.

Hydro Carbon Resistance

O.F.M. Posts have been immersed totally in commercial grade petrol for periods of one hour. No change in appearance or properties obtained.

Fire Resistance

O.F.M. Posts have been tested for 2000 seconds (33mins), supported 60mm below a 2000 watt silica rod element. The product did not ignite, or show any trace of discoloration.

Flam Resistance

FLAM ABILITY O.F.M. Posts do not support combustion when the source of flame is removed, the material will cease burning. 3mm and 5mm available on request Available in other colors on request, including orange for roads subject to snow.
